This chosen photographer has influenced the idea and technique for my next photoshoot because I was particularly interested in how the photographer creates his work physically while using a medium that can over the majority of the photo to make the theme of landscape appear as an enigma to the audience.

Richter is a German painter who had originally trained in the realist style and then continued to develop his interest in other mediums such as; pop art, minimalism/conceptualism and also studies of  photography and landscape where he uses a variety of colours which are combined onto a photograph.

Richter expressed his emotions in his own paintings as a means of exploring how an image can capture the truth and often view how the meanings are interpreted. Richter has always maintained a fascination with the ‘power of images and paintings’ with a broad connection to photography, this is because either medium is used to reflect/express the reality or the incomplete view of a subject.
