Charlotte Brontë (21 April 1816 – 31 March 1855) was an Englishnovelist and poet.
She first published her works, including Jane Eyre, under the pseudonym (false name) of Currer Bell. In 1846, Charlotte encouraged her sisters to print Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell.
