Pichette was born in and raised in Montreal, Quebec.[3][4] He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Université du Québec à Montréal () and a Master of Arts degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Pembroke College of the University of Oxford.[5] He received a Rhodes Scholarship.[6]
