Dalton’s Early Scientific Curiosity

Dalton began his career as a humble, self-taught schoolmaster in the Lake District of England in the late 1700s.

He was a curious and thoughtful man but, given the time period, had no advanced equipment to probe the properties of matter. So, he began his career simply by making meteorological observations, like wind speed and barometric pressure.
